CHEMICAL PEEL

Chemical peels are a safe, highly effective way to revitalise the skin and reduce the damage caused by ageing and over exposure to sun, amongst other things. There are several types of chemical peel available, each one prescribed specifically for the client dependant on the desired effect and the extent of skin damage.

Treatment is pain-free, although some irritation can be felt whilst the solution is on the area and some peels can lead to light swelling of the affected area or peeling of the skin for a few days after the procedure. A trained aesthetician can give you the advice you need on the right type of peel for you, devising a tailored treatment plan to achieve optimum results!

A chemical peel can dramatically improve the appearance of the skin on the face, hands, neck and décolletage. A skin peel leaves your skin looking smoother, healthier, plumper and tighter.

  • What's Involved?

The duration of a treatment will vary depending on the type of peel but it’s usually somewhere between 8 and 20 minutes. During the peel you may feel a slight itching sensation that’s usually easily tolerated.

  • Post-treatment

After the treatment follow the recommendations of the clinic, apply sun cream to prevent hyperpigmentation and to keep the skin hydrated.

  • Chemical Skin peels What is a Skin Peel?

A Chemical Peel simply removes a layer of damaged skin from the face to reveal a newer, healthier layer.

The chemical solution applied causes trauma to the epidermis of the skin, which causes the outer layers to peel away. When the skin begins to heal, increased cell growth produces new, healthier skin layers that give the face a more youthful appearance.

Skin peels are ideal for anyone who wants to reduce any sun damage, fine lines, shallow acne scars, dry or rough skin, dull skin tone, uneven pigmentation, acne or enlarged pores and achieve better appearance of their skin.

Prior to your treatment you will have a free consultation where all your questions are answered and you are assessed for your suitability to proceed.

  • Results

The skin may peel for a few days after the treatment giving way to a new layer of skin, albeit sometimes with a redness that will disappear progressively. Smoother, more hydrated skin is the result. Skin marks and blemishes are reduced or disappear and the skin is more luminescent.

A medium skin peel penetrates the epidermis and the upper layer of the dermis, the middle layer of skin. It is effective in treating deep wrinkles, acne, acne scars and pigmentation.
